Avery Student Messenger

The Avery Student Messenger! Centered on virtually engaging with College of Charleston students, this magazine is a great way to feel connected with the Avery, learn more about the diaspora, pay homage to those gone before, along with receiving free “cheat codes” in obtaining the best internship/post graduate job in Humanities and Social Sciences.

Our first addition celebrates the life and legacy of a dear friend of the Avery Dr. O. The grandson of Philip Simmons, professor, advocate, and food justice activist.

HOLIDAY HOURS: We will be closing at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, December 20th and reopening on Tuesday, January 2nd at 10am.

MUSEUM TOURS: The Avery Research Center offers self-guided tours Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1030AM-12PM and 2PM-330PM. Due to staffing shortages Avery will not be offering guided tours to the general public for the remainder of 2023.
