    Exhibition Opening: “Sew On, Sew On, and Sew On: Contemporary Quilts and Handmade Objects

    The Avery Research Center cordially invites you to the exhibition opening and reception on Thursday September 12, 2013 at 7:00 pm of “Sew On, Sew On, and Sew On: Contemporary Quilts and Handmade Objects” by Catherine Lamkin, Dorothy Montgomery, Winifred Sanders and Wendell George Brown.  The opening reception will be at the Avery Research Center and is free and open to the public.

    About the artists:
    Catherine Lamkin and Winifred Sanders are from New York, New York and have had their art displayed throughout the country, including Charleston’s MOJA Arts Festival and the North Carolina Art Festival.
    Dorothy Montgomery is from Orangeburg, South Carolina and has work displayed at the United States Embassy in Sierra Leone.
    Wendell George Brown, Assistant Professor of Art at Benedict College, Columbia, South Carolina, has exhibited his work widely, nationally and internationally.
