Researchers may request reproductions of materials at the Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture for use in personal research. The Avery Research Center will not reproduce materials if doing so would violate copyright law or donor restrictions, or if reproducing puts the materials at risk for damage. The Avery Research Center also reserves the right to set limits on the amount of copying or scanning it will undertake. Fees are meant to offset the cost of staff time, materials, and handling.

Non-profit vs. Commercial/For-profit status Nonprofit status will be determined by the ability of the researcher to provide the Avery Research Center with a non-profit tax ID number for the institution requesting the materials. Otherwise the researcher/institution will be charged the commercial/for-profit rate.
